Since 1957, Wilby Optical has proudly served the Palo Alto community, offering high-quality optical services and eyewear. Now, as we look ahead, we’re excited to announce that Wilby Optical will be joining the Alexander Daas family—a renowned name in luxury eyewear with 45 years of experience in the Bay Area (San Francisco Optics by Alexander Daas).
Alexander Daas has been a trusted partner of Wilby Optical since 2013, when we became one of the first authorized dealers of their eyewear. With this new collaboration, we’re bringing you a host of exciting improvements, including:
- A larger curation of high quality and independent eyewear brands, such as Mykita, Tom Ford, Lindberg, Lunor, Orgreen, Maui Jim, Entourage of 7, Blac & more, alongside Alexander Daas’ own exclusive collection.
- Expanded hours - we are now open Sundays!
- More eye exam appointment times available, provided by an on-site independent optometrist for your convenience (book online here).
- A store makeover coming soon! We are planning our remodel and will keep you updated as the date nears.
- A state-of-the-art lab for high-quality finishing work, faster turnaround times, and even the possibility of same-day service for select prescriptions.

BLENDING FASHION AND OPTICAL HEALTH
With first access to international designs for sunglasses, eyeglasses, and the top lenses in the business, we carry Alexander Daas, Lindberg, Lunor, Orgreen & more. Our lens selection is vast ranging from free-form and digital HD-quality lenses to Shamir, Zeiss, Varilux, Seiko and more.
We offer prescription lenses including single vision lenses, progressive lenses, bifocal and trifocal lenses, office lenses, computer / intermediate lenses, and reading / near-vision lenses. All of these prescription glasses can be made with a range of materials including plastic, polycarbonate, trivex, and high index. Treatment options include anti-reflective coating, polarized, and transition / photochromic.
All of our lenses have scratch resistance and UV protection included and your prescription glasses can be made as ophthalmic (clear lenses) or even prescription sunglasses. We are one of the few opticians with a state of the art lab on-site so that we can craft your lenses into your frame with higher quality and precision than what would result from sending your frame out to a mass production or insurance lab.
